What are we all about?

We are an entertainment facility with a heavy focus on fun but when it comes to our staff, our motto is:

We strive to give our employees an opportunity to grow by offering corporate level training in a small business environment. You’d be hard pressed to find many small organizations that take the time to offer employees personal and profession training at the level of Ashburn Ice House does. We do it because our greatest asset is our people. The better they become, the better we become.

What type of training are we referring to?

Our training can be as diverse as First Aid/CPR certification to Conflict Resolution – How to Handle an Angry Customer! All of the classes offered to our staff are focused on subjects that are not just specific to our core business but topics that stretch across our lives.

What types of opportunities exist at Ashburn Ice House?

Ou r people are special and so are the jobs they do. Below are brief descriptions of the types of work available at Ashburn Ice House.

Front Desk Sales Associate: The people behind our sales desk are the first faces one encounters when arriving at Ashburn Ice House. This dynamic group of individuals works to assist our patrons in any way possible. They have a wealth of information regarding the programs offered and can quickly and easily process enrollments in these programs. They are also ready to get you on the ice as quickly as possible, processing your public skate passes, stick-n-shoot or pickup hockey! Oh…and don’t forget they are always ready to answer your questions should you call us!

Skate Monitors: Our skate monitors are the “A” team on the ice, out there to ensure that the first priority is the safety of all of our patrons. They will gladly assist you with properly fitting your rental skates, be by your side should you fall and they help to keep the “FUN” moving along. Don’t be afraid to skate by them and say “Hi!” We think they are also some of the nicest people you will ever meet!

Pro Shop Sales Associate: Nobody knows hockey and figure skating merchandise like the sales staff in our Pro Shop. Many of our employees have grown up at ice rinks! They will gladly inform you about our many products offered and help you in making an educated choice when purchasing equipment. They don’t just sell it…they live in it!!! Don’t forget that they also offer other services, such as skate sharpening.

Ice Resurfacer: Ice is our business and no one knows it better than the men and women who resurface it on a regular basis. You may have seen them on those large, intimidating machines. It takes a huge effort to keep the ice maintained and we owe all of our thanks to this group of individuals who make the magic happen.

Manager On Duty: The manager on duty is the “traffic coordinator” in the building! He/she works to monitor all areas of the building to assure that our patrons are experiencing the best time possible. Security is of utmost importance to our managers as well. The manager on duty wears many hats but is always available for patron’s questions and concerns.
